Clyde Prestowitz is founder and president of the Economic Strategy Institute in Washington, D.C. He led many U.S. trade and investment negotiations with Japan, China, Latin America, and Europe in the Reagan Administration and served as vice chairman of President Clinton’s Commission on Trade and Investment in the Asia-Pacific Region. His most recent book is The Betrayal of American Prosperity.
